CLAP!
The monster was really tired of his professor, Mr Crosswell who taught him monster studies. Today’s monster class was really exhausting and the monster thought of going to sleep instead of studying. The monster was staying secretly, under the bed of a five year old.
Being a monster was not easy, thought the monster. He was always the quiet one in class and never bothered about studies. He was a enervate monster for everyone because he is very weak in magic and intelligence too. He is a monster just because of his appearance; green skin, large purple eyes and huge round ears.
The monster reached Charlie’s home. Charlie was the name of the little child. When the monster reached the door and turned the handle, it slowly creaked open. The room seemed different than usual. The lamp on the side was shattered into pieces. Maybe because of the wind, thought the monster but he kept on feeling strange in that room. He went quickly towards his bed and pretended to hide from Charlie who was now in his room with his mom. The monster stayed quiet.
“Please mom, I’m not a kid, I want to stay home. I don’t want Miss Lucifer to babysit me” said Charlie.
“I know Charlie but I will be home late. How will you stay alone?” said his mom.
“Don’t worry mom I’ll be fine”
“Okay. Take care”
As his mom left while Charlie went to sleep saying “It’s going to be an amazing time. I hope my new friend will fit with us.” Charlie was now asleep and the monster too.
The radio turned on by itself, breaking the giant monster’s sleep. It happened again. Every time it turned on, it only played one song on repeat. Terrified, the monster got up and walked towards the radio to turn it off. The monster soon realized that the loud music didn’t affect the child at all. Charlie seemed to sleep peacefully. This thought scared the monster at first but thought to go against it. The monster looked terrified and decided not to sleep.
That night, the monster fought sleep but eventually drifted off even though he had fought sleep. After a certain time the monster heard strange whispers. He figured out that they were coming from the wardrobe. The monster went to the wardrobe to check if there was someone over there. The whispers were getting louder as the monster was moving near. Something really shocking, struck a monster. The door of the wardrobe was covered with graffiti. Written in red paint, the words, “DEATH! DEATH! DEATH! DEATH! DEATH!” were repeated over and over again.
Finding all the lost courage the monster opened the door and saw a doll sitting on top of Charlie’s clothes. It must be Charlie’s, Monster assured himself. The doll looked creepy. It was bald and had cracked skin. The scariest part was her teeth. It was long, pointy and sharp. Monster was really tired and needed some sleep. It was a just a dream, everything will be fine, thought the monster and went to bed. “Booonnnyyy! Where are you going?” said a voice behind him. Bonny froze at one place, his legs trembling and his face turning pale.
Bony the monster thought of running towards Charlie and telling him what he had just experienced. As he shook Charlie he felt something strange. As Charlie opened his eyes, his eyes were glowing, they were red. Charlie’s eyes were no longer black, they were red and they were shining brightly. They were bright enough to light his room. Bony was unable to move and within a second the room had changed. Charlie was no longer in the room. The room was empty, there was no broken lamp, the window was shut and there was no red graffiti on the wardrobe. Bony again heard some whispers, this time there were various whispers as if more than two people were talking.
“Who’s there?” he called nervously.
There was no answer.
“Is there anyone here?” He asked again.
“If someone’s here then clap” he said.
All of a sudden, he heard a loud CLAP!
“If you are Charlie, Clap once and if you are not then clap twice” said the monster.
CLAP!
“Are you watching me?”
CLAP!
“Can I see you?”
CLAP! CLAP!
“Are you here alone?”
CLAP! CLAP!
“How many of you are here? Clap once for each person…”
CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! …
